I could have been your one true love

but you were too afraid

convinced that you weren't ready

you thought you had it made.



A girl who you could use on whim

without the word commit

but the fact that you were using her

was one you did omit.



Just maybe she did like you

and you weren't simply a game

and maybe she did smile

everytime she heard your name.



And maybe she did want to cry

when she watched you walk away

'cause that one small kiss was heaven

and she wanted you to stay.



Maybe she now wonders

why she ever took the chance

how she could ever really feel

a but of true romance.



Your standing at the doorway

without a word your gonna go

and if you ever gave a damn

I guess i'll never know.
