The Thing About That Word
The thing about truth is that it points out
some wrongdoing on the part of us all,
and our social values tend to be primitive in nature
whereby we choose human sacrifice
in the same way ancient civilizations
burned people at the stake and crucified them
for even suggesting such a thing, as if for us all
to bear the weight of life's burdens together
is an absurdity.
