Sun high, horse tired, He rides into town
Ragged and unshaven, looking for a bed to lay his head
The Saloon is welcoming, so He stops
Getting off the tired beast, He saunters in slow and easy
Men talking loud and hearty, women promising love, for a price
She sees him, staying she watches as he orders a Whiskey
This man sweeps her away unknowingly, Its the hat
He sees her, tips his hat and drawls "Howdy Ma'am"
Her heart jumps, "Howdy" is her only reply
"May I buy you a drink?" he asks politely
"If you please..." she's falling in love
They talk for hours about the world around them
Laughing and remembering together all their joys
They take a slow walk through town, watching the stars
He realizes that he is in love, finally
Shyly she takes his hand, warming to him
They reach the edge of town and stroll into the wild open earth
A full moon over head shining and blessing this moment
Again tipping his hat he says "Ma'am you are the prettiest rose in this barren desert ... and it would be my pleasure to place upon your lips a small token of grace for the beauty you offered me this evening."
Blushing and with a turn of her head she nods in agreement.
He pulls her close and holds her dear. Removing that black cowboy hat
Looking deep into her eyes he kisses her, deep and lovingly
The moonlight silhouetting them, time melting
This weary Kowboy has found love
This Lady has found her hero
