About Love

And so they write poems:

About love

About hate

About death

About escape

Drawing a thin line

between tragedy

and fate

And repeating our past

During a long, hopeful wait

And so I write poems:

About love

About choice

About you

About voice

Drawing a plain line

between reality

And sight

For unrepeated pasts

During a long, hopeful night

Author's Notes/Comments:

So yes I feel like commenting on this one to for some reason. One idea I bring forth here is to comment on poetry, that it shouldn't have to be about dark feelings so much. Not to say it always is, but that when going that direction the subject of hope should be lit up; poetry shouldn't make people think about deat and themselves dieing so much.

wow i like this one a lot... and i like that you have such a positive outlook about love that you reflect in your poetry; i agree that it would be awesome if everyone could do the same... but i also think poetry is a way for some people to sort out their emotions at the time, and that sometimes those emotions might not always include hope. but in general i think i always enjoy a poem with an element of hope more than a purely depressing one. sorry that i'm rambling, i have nothing else to do right now...
