Civilization

Your so-called western civilization

Is a disappointment to other mankind

You do not look before you leap

Your feelings do not run deep.

Maybe its because of your compunction

Searching for something you can't find

In a society that puts the green

Before anything down here

Where people become so hard

Always tirelessly on guard

Without emotion being so mean

Making all living in fear

Maybe that is the price

We pay for automation

And the effects of our modern technology

Causing pollution to give way to ecology

To me that is a huge sacrifice

I prefer feelings with emotion

I agree you're rich with all your glory

So your children eat anything anytime

But you spend much in bitters

Or Dr.?s bills and baby sitters

Their teeth rot before they lose the temporary

Ending up using mouth wash in their prime

Indigestion and malnutrition is in the bone

In this country with so much waste

One would think we?ll eat properly

But its a hot-dog and hamburger society

Where mental health is almost unknown

And millions are spent on losing weight

Canadians are so careless in many ways

And just plain ignorant in their life style

They forget they live in a cold climate

Its inconvenient and one would hate

To face the cold weather in wintry days

But it amazes that some are still agile

In winter they?d wear their summer clothes

And develop cold and influenza

The cunning doctors consider them cranks

And the druggists are laughing with banks

Such carefree lifestyle and dumb modes

Make them age far quicker

Where children are left to themselves

With no one to look after them

Maybe a puerile or immature sitter

Growing up with bad behaviour

Sometimes becoming the devil of elves

Or maybe each a little gem

For Some parents their children

Can and never ever do any wrong

In school, at home or at work

They would never put the cork

On the lid of the potential frien?

Becoming a destructive King Kong

They do not admonish their pet

When they do anything illegal

Like starting with small items and tales

Until one day when thrown in big jails

Parents come fuming fierce and fret

Because they're the cause of it all

Bad company said the parrot

Not believing a bird has that sense

So they're sucked in with the stenches

Of drugs vice, crime and wenches

Never believing they could be caught

For many are puerile and dense

And when they are put away behind bars

Leaving family and cupboard bare

With the taxpayers paying all bills to maintain

The bums in luxury or until they at least regain

Their senses and maybe heal their scars

Becoming independent for their own welfare

Where it ends so far I know not

I do know thou9h how to avoid a fix

The psychiatrist?s couch is not the answer

Not even the marriage councilors banter

The only solution which must be taught

Is going back to the good ol? basics

The basics of morality and honesty

With some integrity, and lots of loving sentiment

We'll pay far fewer farthings for far fewer more

We'll live and let live, and love longer for sure

For wealth can be very bad property

Unless accompanied by health, and contentment.

When you speak the truth through your lines. A discreet warning, none take heed and the seed become rotten weed. I also fail to understand, complaints are taken as hatred and not protests against detoriation. The very sign to preserve trying to draw kind attention. I visited Canada, thus the reference is well understood. Keep voicing and
the awareness is bound to come.
