This is how life works and that is how it is
It tests you everyday although it were a quiz
Sometimes you pass, sometimes you fail
And when it does happen, you just wish your life was a fairytale
50% cruelty, with mix of 40% study
It stains our happiness and makes it so damn bloody
But there is that remaining ten percent that we can live for
And that 10 percent is the fun right behind that open door
You see, we bury ourselves in our anger and stress
That we think our lives is just like a pro game of chess
Moving each step like there’s mine underneath
Hoping that you might just make it out by the skin of your teeth
That ‘out’ is the world that we know and survive in
And if we don’t follow its rules we go straight into the bin
We think those rules are there to make us stronger
That is where we are mistaken and wrong
Happiness is the cure to everything in life
Abandon that and you will feel nothing but strife
Some people might disagree and say money is the cure
But do you really think that money can buy something that pure?
Happiness is not bought or can be sold
Nor is it something they can be found in the world like silver or gold
Happiness is given from our father above
Maybe you don’t believe me, but his gift to us is love
Love is happiness, it’s is ours to keep
With love we don’t have to worry or cry in our sleep
No more suicidal attempts or thoughts
But in the end it’s your decision to make since you’re the one calling the shots
Our life is given and breathed into us, it’s not a curse
So why do we cut and hurt ourselves and end up staring at the nurse?
“Life sucks.” I’m tired of hearing that although it might be true
The essence of life isn’t something that appears out of the blue
Treasure it, contain it, keep it safe
Don’t let it be ruled by the world, don’t let it suffocate
Tell yourself this is my life, it’s my gift not yours
So the world will respect it and bother you no more
