I BUILD, UGONNA

(for Ugonna)

Dove:

I build, Ugonna,

a Castle of Dreams:

see it; touch it ... hear it

Listen: the music of Love lingers here

feel the satin whispers of Light

slowly searching your soul

I build this Castle

in the midst of a storm

this Castle of Silence

surrounded by the din of Darkness

Nest in its loving Loft

awaiting the Dawn

soar on the rays

of the Sun

Eagle!

A generous tribute to a human-hearted person whose creative faculties are ever soaring like an eagle. Thanks for sharing.

It seems to me as if you are rather building a bridge than a castle – a bridge between two seemingly irreconcilable extremes (dove and eagle). Or, creating something strong by starting with something tradionally (culturally) weak, which eventually overcomes a negative environment. There is some correlation beween this poem and Windbreek. Maybe this theme of the (noble) seemingly weak, conquering the (evil) strong is consistently present in the work of Myra Lochner? (Someone may get a doctorate by analysing the poetry of Myra!)

Honestly, for the first time, I cannot find words to express my heartfelt cherishment and appreciation of this moving tribute to my person, Myra! I can only say that "I BUILD, UGONNA" will inspire and enrich my soul for a life time... I am overwhelmingly grateful in every unfathomable sense! Ugonna

As everyone else said, very beautiful tribute and I know Ugonna is just gushing over it or he wouldn't have sent me here. :) It's wonderful to see someone take the time to write something so nice about someone else.

Myra: A beautiful poem and tribute to our postpoems member, Ugonna. The spirit is contagious, at least here, among friends. Thank you for sharing such a dedication.

This is such a lovely tribute to a very special person. Such profundity in this line: I build, Ugonna.... As if to say, this is what I do: I create, therefore, I am.. Well said. Well done. Amy

Indeed Ugonna is deserving of those castles you build. He is someone who is a Castle builder himself. His dreams, his heart, his thoughts are built of pure love for all humanity. His writings are as smooth as to tenderly move through our souls, searching for it's rightful place to rest within us. As I once said long ago; "He is the sun and I just a flower in a distant field." Yet his rays so strong and warm they reach and lift me up out of some of my darker moments. Ugonna is a wonderful well deserving man of such a beautiful tribute.
