The ART OF POETRY

Let me make you my muse

Can I use your heart as my canvas

Until you see what I see in you?

Hang your face up on walls so that you can notice

What you consider imperfection

Is the reason for our deepest connection

I want your images to remind me of how you used to be

But also how much you’ve grown with me

I want to paint outside the lines of your mind

Until you find that color has replaced the darkest of your thoughts

They say that “art imitates life”

So, can I sketch the past mistakes we’ve both made when we couldn’t get it right?

Capture the moments we’d never forget,

The things we thought we left behind and the choices that left us with regrets….

Because it has all led us right here

With you…lying in my arm like a masculine sleeping beauty,

Wondering, if you’ve ever dreamt of me…

I wanted to go find my brushes but then I realized that I didn’t have any

and that all I actually had to offer were these words

They say that “art is silent poetry and poetry is paintings that speak”

So let me make you my muse…

Wow.

"Can I use your heart as my canvas
