how can something so perfect
be so terribly wrong
we knew before this ever started
yet I opened my heart right up
and you ran straight in
I offered you my body and soul, you took it
we've gotten in way too deep
what we have together I need
yet love will never run its true course
you will never grow tired of me
for soon I shall be gone
it's the only way
baby we already knew there was no other end
I breath, every breathe with you
I hurt, when you feel pain
I'm happy, when you are happy
I felt the sting of your every tear
but alas everything good does come to an end
it's time for us to part
our lives are an endless path
I'll forever cherish the day ours crossed and became one
secretly I'll wrap all our memories in my heart
there safe we'll never really be apart
only you and I will ever know what was lost
forever, I will love you so
when you see me on the street don't stop me
no I could never be that strong
walk on by, don't hesitate the pain would be too great
pain for what could of been
pain of not having you
missing your touch, your laughter, all of you
just show me that smile I love so dearly
perhaps a slight nod, to let me know you too think of me
don't look in my eyes, for they will surely show my anguish
just walk on by, and know I loved you yesterday
I love you today, and all of my tomorrows
nice poem. i can definately relate.
stolen moments in time... the path of a falling meteor... celebrated painfully and beautufully... you write very well. eric
Jo-anne, I have never been in a situation like yours with this poem, but after reading this, I can see exactly how you feel. You certainly have a way of bringing life to LIFE. Keep up the writing. Linda
I think you ended the poem really effectively...a sense of bittersweet feelings....sadly beautiful. Yes...we all lose love at some points of our lives...and we live on...remembering it. Do read my 'Remembering You' this poem reminds me of that poem of mine. Smilesz.
This is a very good poem but kind of sad too. You have a good attitude about losing a great love. Thanks for sharing it.
We all cry in words... A wonderful poem!!
