Homeless

Homeless people all over the world

with nowhere to go.

So here we are sitting under the Claiborne Ave Bridge

on our very first night we were down on our luck

not one person would give us a buck.

We all lost our place

due to the fact no one could pay rent anymore

You lose your job you lose everything

just like our Governor and other officials that left us for dead.

You under the bridge all sad and lonely

not a car passing too dark for you to see.

You don’t want to see yourself dieing alone

without a place that you used to call home

Homeless Oh Jesus I am so homeless

Why can no one help me?

I am tired sitting under the bridge eating out trash cans

Stepping in debris covered all over my shoes

The homeless shelter is the last place I wanted to choose.

Life on the streets is a mystery

Only I can stop myself from this,

but this is only talk for me until I make the step to do something.

I called on God to help me make the first step

this was the hardest part for me

I got the job done with the help of God and my friends

Why because somebody was praying for me?

Truly poignant.
