they say I am dark

and should be warned of me

others know the truth

which is born of me

love is what I choose

love is what I use

but sometimes we may see

they live another truth

we don't speak out

about their abuse

we keep real quiet

we know we're being used

a chance we give

as we lengthen the rope

see if they will choose

to hang themselves and choke
