A day I will never forget,
It was a normal day,
Until,
Grandma called one day not long ago,
I have some news for you my sweet girl,
I am thinking ok,
News this will be ok,
I went to the doctor today my sweet girl,
The doctor found cancer today,
Cancer that is a word I never thought she would say,
What do I say now?
Do I ask how bad it is?
Do I say you will be ok?
Cancer that is a word I never thought she would say,
What did the doctor say?
Let’s do surgery,
Then radiation and meds,
It all made my grandma so sick,
Cancer that is a word I never thought she would say,
She told me one day,
I just want to give up,
And go into heaven with grandpa,
That made me so sad,
You need to fight I said,
Cancer that is a word I never thought she would say,
Through it all she somehow had a smile on her face,
Sweet grandma I love you so,
You are here today,
Cancer that is a word I never thought she would say.
