I tried to keep my heart from you,

but you stole it away before I knew.

I tried to keep my secrets locked away,

but you just had to turn that key anyway .

I tried to listen to the doubts in my mind,

but your convincing words said you were kind.

I tried to heed the warnings of my heart,

but you insisted you were true from the start.

Now that you have my poor heart, it's breaking,

from risks I knew I should not have been taking.

Now that you know all of my secrets inside,

you say I'm dishonest when it's you who has lied.

Now that I've decided to disregard my doubt,

I finally see what you're really all about.

Now I am finding my hearts warnings were true....

Damn you!! I tried to keep my heart from you.
