Once upon a time

in this foolish

heart of mine,

there lived a love

I thought would grow,

though it was a lie

I did not know....

I didn't want to trust

and get hurt again,

but then I found "love"

in a lifelong friend.

Our passion ignited

such a raging fire,

that childhood crush

became full blown desire.

But doubt still lived

within my fragile heart,

caused by past deceptions

which tore me apart.

But slowly with time,

his love eased my fears,

I began to think we would

last through the years...

We talked of a family,

(only after we wed!)

as visions of our future

danced through my head~

The "love of my life"

I never thought I'd find,

I believed was this man

I had known for all time.

Then without warning

or explanations of why,

Prince Charming took his love away,

making me cry.

After all we had gone through-

tribulations & trials,

through battles and tears,

through laughter and smiles,

through nights of passion,

through tender moments shared...

I honestly and truly,

really believed that he cared!

My foolish little heart

all along should've known,

this fairy tale would end

with the Princess all alone......
