Once upon a moment,
The sun shone in the sky.
The birds chirped cheerfully.
No one could ruin this day.
Once upon a moment,
The waves brushed against my feet.
The man by my side made me laugh.
I had never been happier.
Once upon a moment,
I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.
I looked to its owner.
I did not like what I had seen.
Once upon a moment,
Words shattered my soul.
“Your house caught fire.
No one made it our alive.”
Once upon a moment,
Tears rained down my cheeks.
The man by my side pulled me,
Into a comforting embrace.
Once upon a moment,
The sun shone in the sky.
The birds chirped cheerfully.
My day… my life was ruined.
Once upon a moment,
One that I can’t forget,
One that haunts my every waking,
One that I experienced.
