The unsent Letter

I have never found a person
I despise as much as me
full of lies, so silver tongued
my maiden name - hypocrisy
My lack of faith has left me jaded
I feel as if my soul has faded
The words in which I must believe
The one true path of life to lead

Passed on from father
Nurtured by mother
The command to preach it to the others
They don't deserve
A life chose by me
at what point do I submit
And bow down to thee

I am not my father
but I am your son
It's not right to punish all
for the evil of one.
I refuse to follow
Your words are not me
I am a good person
To these people in need
So strike down your vengeance
Put all on their knees
I will no longer spread lies
About a blind man who sees

I end this sincerely
Your son JC
