Ice Queen

I've braved so many harsh winters,
walked for miles in deep snow.

At some point,
the frost seeps into your veins,
every memory chills your bones.

Becoming cold-blooded,
I sought isolation
to conceal the blizzard inside.

A thought crystallized,
a frozen tear descended like a snowflake,
I don't want to live like this.

I long for warmth,
for someone to melt
this frigid heart.

I yearn for sunshine
but after years in
these artic conditions,
I can't imagine anything else.

This has become my reality
whether I like it or not.

The cold never bothered me anyway.

This is the best thing you've

This is the best thing you've ever written in my opinion. You may not have realized it, but you've shed light on a person who has grown to identify him/her self with the symptoms of their illness. Wonderful write!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Cool, literally.

I really like the second stanza.
