I've never seen you heartbroken.

For the first time,
I see life tearing you apart
and for once I realize
that you have feelings
that can be wracked.

I've held grudges against you
but never sympathy for you. 

I could never forgive you
for the pain you've caused me
even if it was unintentional
until today as I watched
you bow your head
with watering eyes. 

I've never seen you vulnerable.

I never believed you loved
because I did not hear the words
but I know this heartbreak
proves how deep you truly loved.

Watching you like this
makes every resentment crumble.
