Stand Still, Look Pretty

You think it’s so easy being me,
that I don’t have to make any effort
to impress you.

But I practiced these expressions
for hours in front of the mirror,
and I have layers of makeup
that take forever to remove.

It took years for this shell
to look as you see it.

And it’s going to take even longer
until I’m more than just this shell.

I think

I think you are good at blasting your way through the negative, and trying to find the positive. We all have that feeling of wanting to let down our guard. Fear of the unknown, we just can't laser it out of existence.
You are a very creative writer. In your writing—formats, you give permission to images, finding antidotes that include other dangers, you keep the audience on the edge, hooking your readers, you are the boss, you have the power.
The power of writing, you honor us with your visions. So writer be true to yourself, in other words, honor yourself. Be good to you too, so that you may honor your creative.

Peace
Dylan
