“You’re pretty.”
“You’re sexy.”
These compliments
fall off a lustful tongue.
Do I have any worth
behind these brown eyes
and beneath porcelain skin?
If bodies had a price,
would hearts be included
or considered priceless?
Am I truly valuable to you?
Does my heart carry any weight
besides in my pocket?
If you could whisper any phrase,
I wish it was something
not so superficial,
something akin to…
“You’re precious.”
You are indeed...
precious...
