I look at the world

through a lens,

analyzing every detail

to best find the shot. 

Zoomed in tight to

this tiny frame of mind

blurring out surroundings,

opportunities for beauty.

I am unable to capture

anything that falls

outside the realm

of my understanding.

Aperture broken:

Light cannot enter

my view of my life

because I limit myself.

I miss the periphery,

a world of possibility

within reach

but never attained.

Out of focus:

a photograph with

a partial outlook

is undeveloped.
