Friend or Foe

When you speak,

all I hear is noise;

your hateful voices

mean nothing to me.

It is the ones that

don’t utter anything

about what they think

that hurt me most.

I need to hear their

supportive words but

they stand beside me

in perfect silence.

Maybe this is their way

of encouraging me,

by placing themselves here

ready to fight the enemy.
