You were just

a placeholder

because no one else

wanted to be with me.

I used you for sex,

for intimacy.

I wasn't even

all that attracted to you.

Yes, sometimes

I miss your touch,

the animalism in your growl.

But at the end of the day,

all I needed was attention-

someone to notice

that I existed.

I just wanted

a warm body next to me and

someone to call me pretty.

But I guess you used me too;

I was always there when

you needed to get off.

Of course, I already admire

Of course, I already admire your poetic style; but the sheer honesty required to disclose this situation in this poem is more than admirable:  it is a tremendous reflection of a devotion to Truth, and another aspect of why you are one of this site's finest Poets.
