They say that it’s ladies,
Who have the better sense,
Of discrimination,
But the reality says otherwise.
Men are the tuners of pianofortes,
So are the tasters of tea and wine,
The sorters of wool,
And the rest.
Therefore it’s not women rather men,
Having more delicate power of discrimination.
Whatever the task, I am
Whatever the task, I am sure both men and women strive to be the best at their trade, and therefore are equally talented.

Witty!
I find your comment pretty witty my friend! Thank you.
"Discrimination vs
"Discrimination vs discernment" maybe. A twist of thought I had in betwixt your well placed words. Language barriers are wretched tyrants.
.. I do get the gist... women and men.... hmmmm.
Depends upon what is to be "discriminated or discerned" perhaps.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."
"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
So nice of you
Thank you so much for your elegant comment.
Some may find it interesting
Some may find it interesting that although most american "miram-webster" dictionaries use both words as being synonomous with each other, they have starkly, different meanings. To discriminate is not the same as discern.

I laid emphasis
Thank you again my friend. I laid emphasis on the second definition- Discrimination: "the quality or power of finely distinguishing": http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/discrimination
Interesting notion, but I
Interesting notion, but I disagree. Women hold grudges more often and when they discriminate they know no bounds. I've seen it.

Thank you
Thank you so much. Well, it may vary; but, in most of the cases, I think men stand out. :)
Grudges & Reasons & Ventings
You put your foot in that one. A woman will split a hair, then split the splt hair while looking for a laser knife to put on the finishing touches to anything. Females sorting wool and tasting wine - yeah, I see it all the time - sounds like a job op to me. My woman cousin owns a farm. We also fly jets and shoot guns in the armies of the world, with great discrimination (aka skill at parsing life). I write poetry, but dream of Sally Ride. Faults or no, Hillary travelled the globe with a keen sense of accuracy in diplomacy. Indira would come sit on your porch and discuss women who discriminate well, as in females who make the most exquisite choices. Wendy Mandella, Patsy Kline, Nina Simone, Merkle, Mahalia, Scarlet Johannsen, Shirley Temple would differ. So would Rosa Parks and Gloria Steinhem, Helen Hunt and Nora Mendoza, Condoleeza, Dakota Fanning, Madeline Albright. I would have been scared to challenge Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, or Katy Hepburn on any fine point whatsoever. Taking the homeless tempest tossed to me, the Statue of Liberty makes pretty good finness choices too. Gotta go, female cop in a squad car wants to talk about a few ladies who make and invent stuff. I am not saying women are better discriminators than men, but equal and occasionally better, works for me. Sorry, just venting reasons to hold grudges. ~Lady A~
p.s. The opposite of men is women. not ladies.

Thank you
Dear Allets, I have not tried to draw a sweeping generalisation here. But, studies say so. Therefore, we have to agree. I know that it hurts when women are placed against men and vice versa. Yet, truth is bitter, but it exists. I am sorry if my words have made you feel sad somehow.
p.s. I have used the word 'ladies' for the sake of rhyme alone and I do believe that it does justice to the flow of the words. You could have avoided these words, "The opposite of men is women" because I find them rather rude. Thank you.
