Post-postmodern Love

Love needs a definition new and smart,

In this so-called modern age of ours,

Bodily attraction defeats the union of souls,

More important have become kisses and touches than the heart.

The lovers have sent Plato and his ism to an eternal hibernation,

Concentrating on the parts unseen,

With them ok it is, don’t realise how unlovely it is, how mean!

Falling in love now is like flying a kite with no passion.

Indebted those lovers are to the face[less] book,

An ocean helping them to go for a dip, to search, to look!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I don't know if it is

I don't know if it is missing. It certainly has changed, that isbfor sure. I think technology and advances in medicine have encouraged the thrill of instant gratification to stifle the important aspects of loving. I just don't know anymore. I am just glad I grew up when I did.

Thank you

Thank you so much for the comment. Yes, you are absolutely right. But my friend, 'true love' is really hard to be found now. Perhaps 'time' can come up with a solution and heal; who knows! :)

Perhaps... as long as it is

Perhaps... as long as it is in the heart of one man, or one woman, it cannot die and there will be hope for the little ones.

Right you are

I've to agree with you. I'm also optimistic about that. May 'optimism' prevail everywhere.
