Forgotten

A book somebody once read.
Our name as the title.
And eventually all our words, lines, paragraphs even, will fade away until all that's left is an empty book with your name on it.
Forgotten,
A distant memory.
All you ever lived for, experienced, loved.
Gone in a blink of an eye.
So live, live as long as you can and make every moment last because once again I tell you.
You will be forgotten.
Missed but eventually forgotten.
Loved but eventually forgotten.
Forgotten.
Oh how sad but true, how we all just become a distant memory.
So make the days longer and sleep less because one day this thing we call life will be over.
And you,
Will be forgotten.

Ah but we are never forgotten in God's ledger..............

whether one is religious or not God never forgets us. It is said in the Bible that he knows the count of every hair on our heads. That is meticulous. Even I don't know the exact number of hairs on my head nor have I attempted to count them.......... I loved your poem and got where you were coming from and yes by this world's standards of memory most will be truly forgotten but where it counts ( in our spirit forms) we can never be forgotten. For we are a part of everything and so we continue on without end............Infinity and beyond lol. to quote buzz lightyear........................with sincerest appreciation Melissa Lundeen.

oh and P.S. welcome to our lovely big little community here at post poems. it's an awfully nice place to post.................
