Unrestrained(Across Beliefs)

Thought For Food

our sun comes up minutes apart

and that doesnt sound like much

but if i could see from me to you

around concrete ghettos, over the crumbled ones

through the barriers, over the barbed wire

to the land they came

to escape

this kind of treatment

i'd have seen too much, to have any strength

to make the earth flat, so i could see you

but i wouldnt need, cause you would hold me..

where you are just over the horizon

but i'll do anything i can to be

with you yet

believe it

can land place law forbiding us

and say it stands for freedom

and if i could leave from here to you

around concrete ghettos, over the crumbled ones

through the barriers, over the barbed wire

to the land they came

to escape

this kind of treatment

i'd have seen too much, to have any strength

to make myself stand, right there before you

but i wouldnt need, cause you would hold me..

where you are just over the horizon

but i'll do anything i can to be

with you yet

believe it

no one can control my love for you

they say they stand for freedom

yet they alone stand between me and you

all these concrete ghettos, all of the crumbled ones

all the barriers, all of the barbed wire

gave us land they came

to escape..

this kind of treatment

i have seen so much, to have any strength

but i keep pushing, so i could see you

and i wouldnt need, cause you would hold me..

where you are just over the horizon

and i'll do anything i can to be

with you yet

believe it

and i'll do anything i can to be

with you yet

believe it

and i'll do anything i can to be

with you yet

believe it

gaza to jerusalem

across beliefs

many across the land

say they believe

they use the word love

so unrestrained

as they close the lock and hide away the key

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this after reading some stories about couples separated physically by the wall and checkpoints between much of Israel and Palestine. Jewish and Muslim couples, Muslim and Christian couples, Christian and Jewish couples; a variety of ways and it doesn't matter. Like is said, there's two sides to every story.
