Lead Me Away

If I leave the window open,

Will you climb on in

If I leave the sail raised,

Will you blow the wind

Come to me or

Lead me to you

I sit on the dock

Stare at the sunset

Walk the plank

Though it looks like a pier and a road

Leading back home

I fall overboard

Sink into bed

Empty arms flailing

Drowning in bed sheets

Tomorrow,

I'll do it again

But you can lead me away

Or let me drown in you, instead

If I leave the window open,

Will you climb on in

If I leave the sail raised,

Will you blow the wind

If I walk the plank

Will you build a bridge

If I talk to you in sleep

Will you share, with me, your dreams

Come to me or

Lead me to you

We'll watch the clock

Stare at the sun, when

Love is blind

So is time — I've never found my way, you know

With eyes wide open

But none to touch

No one to hold

There between the lines is braille

Shared emotion's

The Rosetta Stone,

The mud and spit

But our passion's

So much more

Than a dirty kiss

So lead the way

Tomorrow,

We'll do it again

And you can guide the way

Knowing you will never lead me astray
