a round trip ticket's
still a one way trip
to the future
though something about this place
looks so familiar
and it feels like home
maybe it still is
as always
only time will tell
you know how life is
you love where you're going
till you don't
(isn't that the way they say it goes)
we try to set our roots in
throw an anchor off an airliner
but time and again
we go back to seed
it's the way we metamorphosize
dandelion puffs
blown forcefully into the future
by the winds of time
she turns to me and says her thoughts are scattered
her tired body propped up by baggage
some of it appears to be mine
then a flight attendant walks by
voicing dreams to find her home
wanting to get closer
to the west coast
grey-haired pilot kindly warns her
be careful where you choose
it's gonna look familiar
it's gonna feel like home
but a round trip ticket's
still a one way trip
to the future
and a round trip ticket's still your job
"Gonna feel like home"
. The line went right through. We end up home. Round trip, there and again perpetually back. Time driven dandelions - nice image. "Scattered". After a while "it's gonna look familiar".
.
I like the hint of time as passenger and vehicle. Top to toes mighty fine creationing.
