Thorns

bono's still waiting
but i'm afraid
kingdom's already come
the prism didn't reverse it's bend
now we're a tye dye shirt
worn as fatigues
turning on ourselves
turning on ourselves

but pick up the thorns
and the prison breaks
nail yourself up
and there's no branch left
for mad mob's rope to hang

i know it's hard for
you to understand
how i'm hopelessly cynical about civilization
while an eternal
optimist
for love we each can give
to our lovers, our friends
and ourselves without end

but pick up the thorns
and the prison breaks
nail yourself up
and there's no branch left
for mad mob's rope to hang

i know, i know
you can't comprehend
how one can cast to the wind faith in mankind
how one can cast to the wind faith in mankind
but hold tightly to faith in friend

but pick up the thorns
and the prison breaks
nail yourself up
and there's no branch left
for mad mob's rope to hang

i'll sacrifice, i'll be there
i'll walk the five hundred miles
and crawl five hundred more
there's lovers and friends who can testify
just how far i've walked and crawled before
i love the beauty of earth on this journey,
the beauty of existence
i can't deny that i love that we can bolt across the miles
for communication
and i love that i've finally met face-to-face
with an old friend
as i've turned from the narrowing path of civilization
and wandered into the wilderness

so push through the thorns
and the prison breaks
nail yourself up
and there's no branch left
my dear, there's no branch left
for mad mob's rope to hang

Those civilizationists might say

.."..we are legion". ; ) Hm. Physical escape is limited to some degree, and the walls are closing in as they grow outward physically and electronically from civilization, though I hear there's some really wide open space available in Antartica. I think we all need some degree of physical removal from it. But mentally/spiritually, that is where the terrain is one's clay with which to mold.

Thank you for compliments, and just for reading, once more. Very grateful, as ever.

I Enjoy Bigly

Poetry with ideals and POV. A mind working out civilization's current active volcano status(es). p.s. Biden's tax to pay for deficit is interesting - strategy: create a bill then have wealthy pay for it. That is fair, they suck out milliions/blllions for stuff we want - Amazon, net, tv et al, so they get to keep monopolies for a fee. Hmmmm... off shore globalzation snafus may change the Econ-world order, I'm thinkin'. Standard Oil, anyone?

Thank you, once more : )   In

Thank you, once more : )

In an ideal world, the bill you speak of - or at least what we're being told about it on the surface (always suspicious of the fine print and loopholes) - would happen. I'm not good at holding my breathe, and not intent on doing so, anyway ; ) It's what should happen, but of course the list of "what should happen", as you and I both know, is a list that is largely lacking being checked off.
