To live as those with pride

Means only we can hate.

We live by what we say,

Only to be told that we can't change.

We can judge the man, discriminate,

Yet we can't see or name.

Doesn't it sound familiar?

"They're all one and the same."

Does the proof still count as nothing,

Where I stand and you walk away?

It doesn't matter what I've seen,

Rendering worthless what I say.

Can't you see you're treading on me,

Like so many were before?

Don't take the words out of my mouth,

Please don't hate and don't ignore.

I don't need you to defend me,

I don't need you to agree.

But I'll remember what you chose to do,

I'll remember where you left me.

No man should ever tell me

Who I love or how I live,

Perhaps in all this anger,

We've lost how to forgive.
