When i saw you staring at me for the first time,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When you talked to me for the first time,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When you stood close to me,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When you held my hand tightly,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When you hugged me and held me close,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When you kissed me and told me i was yours,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When we argued for the first time and you apologised in fear of losing me,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When i cried infront of you and you wiped my tears away,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When i had to move to a different country and you came to drop me at the airport,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

When we talked till late hours on skype,
I saw that look in your eyes,
Was it love?

 

Was it love?
Because the look you saw in my eyes,
Most definately was love <3

Author's Notes/Comments: 

This poem means a lot to me, it's about my very first relationship which ended a few days back :/ please feel free to say how you felt about it! :)

It Was Love

First loves are wonderful, but sad when they end. The repetition was interesting and the switch up at the end - Lady A.
