Hey little sparrow,
Come sing your song for me,
Give me something to smile about,
Through this misery.
Hey little sparrow,
Perch up on that tree,
And tweet your little tune,
Ever so pleasantly.
The slithery snake makes her way,
Only to be run over while crossing the street.
Wounded, she can't limp away,
With the many obstacles she's yet to meet.
The slithery serpent, she can't turn back,
She can't see where she came,
Blinded by the hills and the screaming people,
Crying how she's the creature of shame.
Hey little sparrow, Darling,
Please sing your song for me.
Give me something to smile about,
Through this misery.
Hey little sparrow,
Perch up on that tree.
And tweet your little merry tune,
Ever so pleasantly.
The silky cat, she finds her way,
Through the nights harsh storm.
Coming in the house, dripping wet,
And quickly, outside she's thrown.
The silent cat, she walks along,
And sits under the porch so white.
Trying to hide from the lightning bolts,
That light the sky, so bright.
Hey little sparrow,
Sing your song for me.
Give me something to smile about,
Through this misery.
Hey little sparrow,
Perch up on that tree.
And tweet your little tune,
Ever so pleasantly.
And now my friends, the woman walks,
Her spirit drags along.
She sits at home, all alone,
Singing her had song.
The woman sits, she can not smile,
Nor even fake a laugh.
As her emotions jumble through her mind,
Thinking of her future and past?
She looks out the window, and sees her sparrows,
Building their nests with pride.
As she watches remorsefully,
At the scene outside.
She starts to cry, her heart is broken,
She buries her head in her hands.
She looks up, sobbing, and says to the birds,
As they fly across the land?
Hey little sparrow, Honey,
Come sing your song for me,
Give me something to smile about,
Through this misery.
Hey little sparrow, Darling,
Perch up on that tree,
And tweet your merry little tune,
Ever so pleasantly.
