What if the world was a safe place to live,

people weren't so selfish and were willing to give,

dancing was gentle and full of such grace,

kindness and honesty could be found anyplace.

What if the land wasn't hurt and in pain,

each mistake we have made on our soul was no stain,

everybody watched sunrise and sunset

so good moods and happiness was all we could get.

What if friendship and family meant everything?

What if to all traditions we would cling?

What if honesty and justice would make this world true?

What if the sun shone always inside our hearts too?

Well close your eyes and dream up your dream,

things are not always as they may seem,

try to think all of your dream through,

because Life cannot fix itself up for you.

Close your eyes and imagine this Life,

imagine if we all lived without strife,

just think if we could all get along,

and Life was just like a happy song.

This sounds to me, like Life Ideal,

it would be great if it were all real,

it would cause our great nation to sing,

oh yes, this great wonderful thing.



....Or would it??



But then, if you really thought this all through,

you'll find that this simply cannot do,

Life without sadness is not Life at all,

Life does need challenges for the great and small.

Without evil there cannot be good,

going through Life this must be understood,

sadness and trial and anger and strife,

make ready all things happy in Life.

And so when you ask a "What if" question,

do not think about how Life could be fun,

think of things that you can do,

to make Life easier to Live for you.

So close your eyes and dream a dream,

things are not always as they may seem,

try to pass with ease through each trial,

remember, Life is but a short while.
