Society

A reflection

Of its own poison 

Too insane

Somehow

To get it within 

Their brains

They are the enemy

They claim to be fighting

The very evil

They waste

So much time hating

Themselves

Never fixing

The world keeps crumbling

As they all point fingers

Always blaming

But never learning

Fading and falling

Always struggling

To fight the nightmare

We refuse to see

Started within 

Everybody

We are a reflection

Of our own insanity

Hating and killing 

Enemies living

Only in their heads

Ignoring the true enemy

Inside hiding

Controlling 

Destroying

Every ounce of humanity

Innocence long faded

Hollow shells

Decayed and decrepit

All that's left

Of a society

Hell bent on destruction

Living without meaning
Their own truth
Just not seeing
Time is fleeting
As in our insanity
We just keep drowning
