Would we be able to see the good
if no evil ever existed,
if we couldn't even compare
and the difference never contrasted?
If the sun always shone
with its never ending light,
would we bask in its glowing warmth
and never miss the night?
If the night time arrived
and never went away,
would we party under the stars
and never miss the day?
One without the other,
neither would be as bright,
be it those golden sunshine rays
or stars perched in the night.
Without the broken heart
would love we even see,
would we even know the difference
if no pain there was to be.
Would we ever appreciate the good times
if no bad ones were ever there,
would we even know the difference
or would we even care?
I really enjoyed this poem. Its message closly ressembles one of my earlier works titles "Polarities." Good job...
