I feel like Esther, from "The Bell Jar"
Loose change in your pocket
Loose marbles running around
The author was inlove with metaphors
And after she stuck her head in an oven, everyone
loved her
A brilliant sacrifice, so that men may know the
waning difference between human and ghost
And Ive got this picture in my head of
what it was, and what it should have been
But like any other idea of mine, it just
becomes metaphorically dead
And I could spout out analogies all day long, like,
sanity to an artist is like oil and water
One just sits on top of the other
laughing, peering, heavy
Esther, Esther
You know, Esther and Kristi have the same
amount of letters
I wonder how much of a difference
there could be
between Esther and me
GAH!
have I mentioned I love your work?
Much Love
Ashley
Damn, you're good. Have you read Ann Sexton? shes another like Sylvia who laid her head in an oven (I think) and said her goodbyes. well she definatly said goodnight one last time but I'm not sure it was in an oven. I would have thought their writing would have saved them, it did me.
You really do write well
