Fly Without Wings

My heart escapes.

My tears, they fall,

when I hear,

his eyes call.

Those emerald jewels,

that speak without sound.

Those excited voices,

as he ascends to the ground.

He soars above all,

believes he can fly.

His emotions are hidden,

behind his lies.

He goes to extremes,

to prove his worth.

He doesn’t accept,

he is grounded to earth.

He hopes he won’t,

but he feels the pain.

He begs he doesn’t,

but he sees the rain.

He looks out to the crowd,

the envious eyes.

He takes the plunge,

he says goodbye.

What he doesn’t notice,

are the tears that stray,

from my eyes,

as I pray.

Please don’t jump,

don’t see it through.

But I’ll still be there,

just incase you do.

I hear your screams.

I know your doubts.

I’ll do all I can,

to help you out.

He doesn’t know,

what I would do.

I would take the pain;

I would jump too.

He doesn’t see,

or hear, or feel,

who I am,

that I’m for real.

Love and betrayal,

is what he brings.

For he is the angel,

you flies without wings.
