EXPECTATION OF LOVE

EXPECTATION OF LOVE

Weren’t you always distracted by expectation? It is the perennial

Longing and the protracted thoughts of your beloved that made

Goose flesh out of you.  This song of love is that framed emotion.

And what of spent flesh; our lovers gather themselves up and become

A heightened example for all that makes for love’s palpable endurance?

What can be said of this eternal current of continual exuberance?

It is the expectation of renewal that drives us forward; for, as we die

Into another the resurgence of life becomes a manifold experience.

We are so much more than each other that progeny must manifest.

It is because of this expectation that we are able to believe in life

Eternal, for as our hearts pump as one it creates an elixir of life that

Becomes an unguent repairing all previous love torn breeches.

It was this expectation that resonated in the Void with the vibration

That now enraptures us to become many as the One became many;

The expectation that love would find its way and not come back empty.

You, lover’s of all kinds, increase in each other’s rapture, until the

Beloved begs for complete mergence, spanning his eyebrows as he

Looks into her eyes for the consummation of that initial expectancy.

Any what of her expectancy as her girth increases promising a life

That will awaken all the perennial futures of mankind; Life can only

Expect abundance and love can only expect to arouse abundant life.

Again I must say, the last three lines of this poem should be in the quotation books!
