**The Harder They Fall

Folder:
~B~

Like a cold north wind

you blew into my heart

this morning.

Deliberately covering

our love

in a blanket of snow.

A blanket so deep

to chill a heart

and smother feelings.

I feel the cold,

my heart shivers

uncontrolleably.

The hurting words

I can't escape,

like wading thru drifts.

The cut in my heart

is deep.

Are you bleeding?

The footprint

there upon

matches yours.

I see you there,

I wait silently

for the next words.

I can't help but think

of all we've shared

but then I stop.

The thinking is

killing me,

tearing at my heart.

A mind

on auto pilot

allows a heart to mend.

And so  the memories

will have to wait

for the healing.

I've had my mind on "auto pilot" many many times and this piece of yours speaks volumes. I feel like we must have met somewhere before. LOL Wonderful phrasing and description.

Warmest Regards,
Jessica
