As you stand atop the cliffs
O’er the foaming sea
As skies glow with dying rays
Signaling the end of days
That is when you’ll think of me
When winds howl at Winter’s traces
And the moon dances in the clouds
Look toward distant places
Past all remembered faces
That is where I’ll be found
When seasons long have birthed and died
And all the options have been tried
When memories have long since faded
And youthful thirsts have been sated
Walk you to the cliffs o’er the foaming sea
Stop and think to remember me.
If the moon, rain and shooting star
Give your eyes a cause to cry
Stop them gentle with a sigh
And think back not very far
To a time when you wandered
Free of the cost
Of all your earthly burdens
And stumbled into the void
And found me sitting, waiting; Lost.
I had tears in my eyes as I read this
Rose
