I jump
But I will not lie and say I am not afraid
Ignoble, selfish reasons drive at the core
Its no speed bump
Its the end of the road
Its what I was looking for
Its the eternity code
At the edge, the wind caresses me over
I stare at the fissures, breaking closer
and in fear I take it all back
I scream that I did not mean to sacrifice everything I have
But The Voice does not hear, in the heat of the fire
And my choice was made, to burn to be higher
To give everything up for the answer
In my chains, nailed to the reality
I struggle because the adrenaline sears
now that it is happening
Its its too late to change my mind
And the human emotions will not prevent me from taking what I find
Its an immortal, inhuman will
It is not greed, it is the need to be still
to end the yellow brick road
to crack the eternity code
to be safe and totally alone
to break free of the mold
Wow! This is probably the most interesting poem i've read here so far. I can't say that it flowed as good as it could have, but you make up for TOTALLY with the images you evoke and the choice of words you use. I absolutetly love the last 4 lines of this poem! The whole thing was great, but those last 4 were very memerable. Thanks for posting this.. It definetely makes me turn away from suicide and you just did me a huge favor! Thank you!
P.S. If you ever need anyone to talk to, don't hesitate to contact me. - Greg
