LET'S PRETEND

Become a child once more

Travel back to days of yore

With eyes of children we behold

Wonders which we have been told

Come to the land of let's pretend

We have a castle to defend

On unicorns we will ride

Two of us side by side

Friends forever, just you and me

On Pegasus we will cross the sea

Flying high in the sky

Watching clouds floating by

When once again we reach the land

We'll see Robin and his merry band

Play hide and seek with woodland fairies

And snack on luscious berries

Against the dragons we must battle

If we don't someone will tattle

To a garden party we've been invited

I think someone's to be knighted

We'll drink tea from a tiny cup

On crullers and scones we will sup

Come with me, play let's pretend

So all our cares will we transcend

Jan,
I would love to go back to my childhood again and play pretend.... How fast those years did go by... This brings back so many fond memories of being a child and pretending so many things were possible.... We never seem to lose site of that childhood that made life so much fun...
Really a great poem, You help the reader return to that land of fun and pretend...
Thank you fro bringing me back again...
Peace and Love
Judy
