I’ve waited too long
That’s why I’m writing this song
You’ve meant so much to me
But I was scared
That you wouldn’t want, what we could be
Now it’s too late
And I feel like a fool for letting slip through my grasp
Because I wanted you

I said “what else could go wrong”
And now that’s why I’m writing this song

Some typing up, a better
Some typing up, a better rhythm for the flow if it is a song,
But as a poem this is quite lovely. I think you could really flog the dictionary for some unusual lines but it is very lovely. Good work :)
