Preaching Peddlers

In broad daylight, they spread loud

Eloquent words, "They are bad."

Does that at all make them mad?

The Meditating

Minds aren't perturbed.

With die-hard didactic din that tear the ear drums,

The sound deafens hurt their very own ears.

As well as the congregations who use reasoning.

Lost purpose-

Pay a heavy price.

To get them heard artificially. Through

Expensive hearing aids, once again Lucky

That people do lend their ears

Let there be some sense to the matter preached

Without heaped insults on other religions; Prejudiced

We, inclusive Rastafarian are but from the same Creator, all His.

I think I understand what you are talking about in this poem though I don't know for sure if you are speaking of the big picture or a specific personal experience. The attitude of my protestant Christian family and churches I attended were definitely not inclusive of anything nonchristian. People from Asia were looked upon as lost pagans, heathens. Though the bible has a few cuddly sounding verses, it has many more that are devisive. Jesus said "I come not to bring peace but a sword." "I am come to set a man at variance against his father, the daughter against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law." In Old testament stories god commands the Jews to commit genocide against those of other religions. Just the fact that the bible so often threatens hell to those who don't "believe" or don't repent is devisive. II John verse 7 "For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and the antichrist." The Gospel of John 3:3 "Unless a man be born again he can't enter the kingdom of god." and John 6:53 "Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." The bible is so exclusive and bigoted. My Christian family often pretended to be accepting of people of different cultures and religions in business or social situations, but at home and in church, they talked like only members of their religious sect were going to heaven. I see this all over. Religion causes so much hate and intolerance. Personally, I think the bible is a hoax and I see no proof that there is a god. If people say there has to be a god because of what has been created, then there would have to have been a god to create god and so on. It's nonsensical to me. Still I don't really care whether people believe in god or not as long as they don't impose their god and their god's rules on me.

"Where there be two joined together in my name, there will I be also"...bible quote. Doesn't say two jews, two gentiles, to muslims, two hindu, two Roman Catholics, two protestants...Just "two". We are all part of the same body and if a religious person is casting stones at another religion they are like the vipers that called Jesus a criminal.
