I know you might not want to hear what I have to say
So I'll be brief, It won't take all day
I just want to say we have all been there
When our pain becomes too great of a weight to bear
Or when you feel you're a burden to those you care about
So you think they would all be better off without
You tell yourself there is no hope and that's your reason
But can't you see pain ends and this is just a season
A cold dry winter that is only temporary
So look past the tears to see this is only momentary
Your solution however is a forever one
And no matter how hard you try, it can't be undone
So be still, hold on and take a breath
Because the answers you seek won't be revealed in death
I wish I could show you how, or give you a sign
That this too shall pass, clocks ticking a deadline
One you can't see just yet, but know that I can
Because your story isn't over, so don't dismiss God's plan
We grow from struggle, heartache and pain
So just imagine the lesson and the strength you will gain
And maybe there will come a time when you will see
It's okay to borrow faith, because one day you'll believe
To end it now would allow the hurt to win
But dont let it, fight it, don't just take it on the chin
Grab your pain and show it that you are not afraid
Make it see that you refuse to give your life in trade
Because for you, God has so much more in store
and this is just a battle you lost, but not the war
You think you have taken all you can, so why try?
But I promise the pain will not end with your suicide
It will begin for all who know you and for all who care
Even though you think they are better off with you not there
Just hold on a little longer
Because I can help, we can make you stronger
I can't fight your battle for you
But I know this much is true
To end it now won't set you free
So just breathe and reach out to me
And remember you dont have to go through this alone
Just send me a text or pick up your phone
Let me show you there is another way
One that gives us another day
And maybe that will be all it takes
For you to learn life goes on, even when our hearts break
And with your broken pieces you might find
You see clearer now, when before you were blind
And you know the wounds you bare now will fade with age
And you won't always feel locked in this cage
You will hear the poet's words echo, don't go gently into that good night
And You will realize you are worth the fight
So please just take pause, for God hears your pleas
And If not God, then reach out to me
Because I would rather listen today, than mourn tomorrow
Or say, who knew they had such sorrow?
So, give me a chance to be there for you now
Make me a promise, make me a vow
You won't do anything you may regret,
At least not now, at least not yet
Because I couldn't go on, If you were gone. Can't you see?
And maybe this isn't so much about me saving you, but more about you saving me.
Never any excuse or reason
Never any excuse or reason good enough for it. Many go through hell complete hell and survive. Ergo it is possible to overcome all things all fears. What we need to do is raise kids like we used to hard, and build resilience. Life is tough and scary but also joyous and beautiful. Not wanting to live thats a choice a bad one. When we live subconsciously it overwhelms us easily. We have to live consciously and choose life not let elements of life swallow us whole. My biggest pet hate though i havent seen it is 13 REASONS. There is nothing good about profiting and dramatising such a situation it will only feed the sickness and program others to think that by killing yourself you will also help others be better people if you do it right. Glamourisong and making a hero out of someone who made a bad decision in the end they were no kinder to themselves as the rest and no better. Its very disturbing that people are buying into it. Sorry for my rant your poem however is written fantastically. And you have written a great piece. I love the compassion and hope and the last lines just brilliant! Blessings SS

"Well, it's love, but not as we know it."
This poem is quite a gift to
This poem is quite a gift to those suffering from self-destructive temptations; I suspect, in time, this poem will save a life, or lives. I applaud not only your fine poem, but the tremendous compassion that inspired it.

A Lot Of Writers Will Benefit From This Poem
I am old and think of death differently, as inevitable and closer. To self-destruct equals absolute isolation: you there is an offer much needed. Thanks for sharing what we all need to hear - struggle, survive, get up and move! Well done - my applause - slc
