At The Inn-Keeper's Inconvenience

No, I did not, myself, go out to see
them.  Servants brought their late request to me:
two barefoot adolescents; Nazareth
their home; the girl about to have her baby.
They wanted lodging.  "Tell them---save their breath,"
I said, "nothing left here."  But then, "Well, maybe
"down in the stable with the troughs and mangers."
Some shepherds, later, got into my face
about such poor accommodations.  I
have done my very best to rectify
all that today . . . I found them their own place.
And, just an hour ago, some highbrow strangers
stopped by.  They claim that infant is a King.

Well, at an inn, folks tell you anything.

Jesus gave us all an example choosing to be born
in a stable rather than a palace...
as in India Krishna chose to be born in a jail
rather than one

God bless you..

This Bible story is infinitely deep

I failed to reply to this

I failed to reply to this timely in 2005, and now Saiom is no longer with us so that I can reply properly.  This is what happens when this kind of personal failure, on my part, is allowed to proliferate.  I apologize to the PostPoems community for my lack of manners eighteen years ago.  I hope my old age has brought with it a little more maturity and appreication for the community of which I am a part (however undeservedly).
