Where has my soul gone

I am no longer

A pawn

So let me fly

For a while

At least

Before the pile

Of thoughts

Begins to thicken

I know it will cost

Weigh me down

As you ponder

Why I stray

Don't mean to wander

I just need

To get away

Please try

Understand

For now anyway
