Above us, Orion drew back his bow.
And below him I drew out my hand.
I touched your joyful, beautiful face
Reflecting the wonder of starry space
Omnipresent as your incredible grace
Sweet and slow as midnight summer’s pace
Quiet and still as the land.
Above us, the north star pointed down.
And my eyes, I pointed at you.
Their celestial fire
Fueled my desire
That burning pyre
Stoked higher and higher
Unfazed by nighttime’s dew.
Above us the sisters danced in joy.
And below them, our bodies danced too
A sweet slow-dance
In passionate trance
With clasping hands
And honey romance
And lips that stuck to like glue.
Above us Orion drew back his bow.
And I drew a shallow breath.
“I’ll love you forever.
Abandon you never
Ever and ever
From now til the hour of my death.”
And…
Then…
Slowly…
Above us Orion drew back his bow.
there are several beautiful parables
in this beautiful poem
Darron, Darron, Darron...
You talk about my power in poems. I think my friend, you should have a look at some of your own works. They are so eligant and professional and so deep that ideally, you can't just read them in 5 minutes and understand the whole thing. This is what you call poetry. You are what i call a poet. This poem and a few of the others I have read are some fine works and I do hope you continue to grow stronger in your writting. You have so much talent brusting out of you that it just isn't funny. Continue to let it hit the page...
