the fire

i cant remember how it started

it might have been a candle

though whatever it was

i almost lost my life

my neighbors called my name

the smoke was just too much

one man said he'd call for help

i was so relieved

maybe this was it

maybe i was free

they couldnt save my house

but maybe they could save me

my life flashed before me

as i lay on the burning steps

finally i see them

the firemen are here

what i used to call home

now burned to ashy soot

windows are shattered

but im alright

thank you firemen

for saving my life
